Iced Tea
Iced Tea is a refreshing beverage that contains no sodium, fat, carbonation, or sugar. It is virtually calorie-free. Tea helps maintain proper fluid balance and may contribute to overall good health. Tea contains flavonoids, naturally occurring compounds that are believed to have antioxidant properties. Tea flavonoids often provide bioactive compounds that help to neutralize free radicals, which scientists believe, over time, damage elements in the body, such as genetic material and lipids, and contribute to chronic disease.
National Iced Tea Day
On April Fool’s Day, in 2003, Georgia State Representative John Noel introduced a House Bill proposing that all Georgia restaurants that serve tea be required to serve sweet tea. That the bill was an attempt to bring humor to the Legislature. For fun continued fun, June 10 was declared National Iced Tea Day!
Bagged Tea Vs. Loose Tea
Bagged tea if full of dust or tea fanning, it is from the bottom of the barrel. Loose tea is the whole leaf, in most cases it opens up and reveals the veins in the leaves. There is much more flavor and quality in loose tea.

Why Herbal Tea Over Fruit Juice?
Most of us these days aren’t fooled by the bottles of fruit juices we see lined up on our supermarket shelves labeled, “no added sugar,” or “unsweetened.” So, don’t let these words mislead you into thinking that these fruit juices are a healthy alternative. They are usually not an “all natural” fruit juice. We know these fruity drinks are mainly marketed towards children and parents alike because of their convenience and cost. Juice boxes are simply, well, boxes of sugar. These types of fruit juices lack the fiber that we can get from eating whole fruit as well as all the important nutrients it provides. You can’t get these same benefits from just the bottled fruit juices. Even “organic” and “cold pressed” type juices are known to have less fiber and nutrients, so they don’t contain what they promise all of the time. Fruit juice is only a good choice if it is extracted from fresh fruit with absolutely no additives at all. So, with that information, let me tell you about a better beverage choice – herbal tea. Herbal tea comes in so many different flavors and varieties. The possibilities of combinations and flavors are endless. Cold herbal tea, especially is a refreshing drink for kids and anyone looking for an alternative to soda, juice, or even a “healthy” sports drinks. An amazing alternative to sugary fruit juice is using an all-natural herb combination that brews like a tea, but tastes just like a juice. It’s also been compared to the taste of a “kool-aid” type flavor and not like a tea. Not only does it taste delicious, but it is so simple and healthy!
