As a young girl Valentine’s Day was my favorite holiday. Each year I would hit up the after Valentine sale to stock up on new decorations. Heart garland was wrapped around my room, a heart shaped trash can sat in the corner of my room. The best part was going to school when there was a special someone. Like many other girls I carried around flowers or other little trinkets from admirers. After having children, Christmas became my favorite holiday. I enjoy the preparations and anticipation of the coming celebration. Each year we perfect our family traditions by decorating gingerbread houses and baking cookies. Most of all, it brings joy to my heart to watch my children open their gifts and partaking. Valentine’s Day is still a close second of my favorites but often feels financially wasteful to expect expensive flowers that quickly wilt or chocolates. Well, not chocolate. I expect chocolate every day. There are four girls in our home and we all want to feel special on Valentine’s Day. Buying little trinkets can easily add up for my husband. There is one thing we all like and that is Tea. My three girls and I all drink tea. Typically, I limit the younger girls to herbal tea.
